To export comments from HitSend to Reaper, selecting the track you wish to download comments for and load it in the player screen. On the right side in your comments tool bar to download comments. Select Reaper and input the tempo of the to map the markers with the timeline in your session. Next, click download and make sure your web browser isn’t blocking downloads from HitSend.

Import the downloaded MIDI file by selecting Insert, insert MIDI file, and then choosing the MIDI file from your downloads, or by simply dragging and dropping the file onto session.

A pop up window will appear asking you if you wish to import the markers at the start of your session, and if you wish to import the MIDI as markers. Make sure you leave "Import MIDI markers/cues as project markers" for the comments to go on your timeline.

Once you have selected your desired options, click OK to proceed and import the markers. You can delete the MIDI track that gets added to the project and your markers will still remain.

If there are 2 or more markers with the same timestamp they will get stacked on top of each other, and so you will have to move the markers apart in order to see all the comments.

Once the markers are in place, you can also select the markers and color code your markers if you wish to further organize your project.

NOTE:

If you’re having trouble importing comments into Reaper you may need to clear markers already in the session.
